Mellasat vineyard is situated in Paarl, South Africa and was created by the Richardson family in 1996 from part of the original farm, Dekkersvlei, which dates back to 1693.

Following Mellasat's participation in the Cape Wine Europe trade event at Earl's Court, London, in October there was much interest in this unique style of South Africa's own variety.
